The
Bambury Centre is a Community Regeneration Initiative located in the
neighbourhood of Camlachie, in the heart of the East End of Glasgow.
It
is a not-for-profit organisation limited by guarantee, which is owned and
managed by the local community. The Bambury Centre became operational in April
2001 with a community mandate to implement the Camlachie Community Regeneration
Strategy (Nov 1999). This Strategy was validated by the local community who
viewed the document as the pathway to improving their life quality, life chances
and economic well-being.
The Bambury Centre plays a key role as a
facilitator in encouraging and supporting external and independently managed
organisations and agencies to deliver services in Camlachie and the wider East
End area.
